Microsoft has formally ended support for Windows 7, and has announced the end-of-support date for Windows 10 (October 14, 2025).
After these dates, Microsoft will no longer provide:
-
Security updates
-
Bug fixes
-
Technical support
This policy applies strictly to Microsoft’s operating system lifecycle.
Impact on Our Platforms
We would like to clarify that this EOL mandate does not affect our platforms.
VMS / CMS Software
- Our VMS/CMS platform remains fully operational.
- The software is compatible with the latest version of Windows 11.
- Customers may upgrade their OS at their discretion without concern for compatibility.
- There are no licensing or functionality changes tied to Microsoft’s EOL policy.
NVR / DVR Systems
- Our NVR and DVR products operate on a Linux-based operating system.
- They are completely independent of the Windows ecosystem.
- Microsoft’s Windows 7 and Windows 10 EOL mandate has no impact on their performance, security model, or continued operation.
Recommendation
While our platforms are not affected, we encourage customers to follow Microsoft’s best practices regarding operating system security and lifecycle management. Upgrading to a supported operating system (such as Windows 11) ensures continued access to Microsoft security updates.
Summary
The Windows 7 and Windows 10 EOL announcements:
- Do not affect our VMS/CMS software
- Do not affect our Linux-based NVR/DVR systems
- Do not require any changes to our platform licensing or functionality
Our solutions will continue to operate as designed, regardless of Microsoft’s Windows lifecycle changes.
